Marine Electrician
Our marine electrical client is a leader in their field. They provide a variety of services to both commercial fleet operators and recreational vessel owners within the Auckland region, including supplying, fitting, and servicing a range of well-known leading brands covering all marine electrical needs.
They are now seeking an Auckland-based Marine Electrician to join their team. This is a unique opportunity for a skilled individual passionate about the marine industry and seeking a role that offers both challenges and rewards in equal measure. As a Marine Electrician, you will be at the forefront of ensuring the electrical systems of a wide array of marine vessels operate optimally, efficiently, and safely. Embracing new technology and clean energy, our client is positioning itself at the forefront of electric outboards and sail drive systems.
The Role:
- Conduct routine maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs on marine electrical systems aboard recreational and commercial vessels.
- Perform troubleshooting and problem-solving on complex marine electrical issues.
- Install new marine electrical systems and components, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and regulations.
- Work closely with clients and team members to provide exceptional customer service, delivering projects on time and within budget.
- Adhere to all safety and environmental guidelines, promoting a culture of safety within the team.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, parts used, and services rendered.
- Working across projects and marinas throughout Auckland.
The Essentials:
- Qualified Electrician with a solid background in marine electrical systems, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
- Previous experience in the marine sector is preferred, though candidates with experience in related fields may be considered (automotive, industrial, residential electrical sector).
- Experience with both AC and DC systems.
- A valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various marina locations as required.
- A proactive approach to work, with a strong focus on quality and customer satisfaction.

- Demonstrable skills in electrical diagnostics and problem-solving.
- A team player with excellent communication skills, capable of working well both independently and as part of a dedicated team.
- A commitment to ongoing professional development and staying up-to-date with the latest technologies and practices in the marine electrical field.
- Physical fitness and the ability to work in various marine environments.
