Manaaki Marine is recruiting on behalf of an established marine infrastructure business seeking experienced Aluminium Fabricator/Welders to join their fabrication workshop in Whangaparāoa.
This is an opportunity to work on a wide range of bespoke marine infrastructure projects, manufacturing components that are installed throughout New Zealand's waterfronts and marinas.
Initially offered as a three-month contract, there is genuine opportunity for ongoing work for those who demonstrate the right attitude, workmanship, and capability.
About the Role
Working from a modern fabrication workshop, you'll be involved in the manufacture and assembly of custom aluminium marine infrastructure, including gangways and other specialised fabricated components.
This is not repetitive production work. Every project presents a new challenge, requiring accuracy, craftsmanship, and pride in producing high-quality finished products.
Working Hours
Monday – Friday
7:30am – 4:30pm
An immediate start is available for the right candidate.
What You'll Be Doing
Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
Fabricating bespoke aluminium marine components
MIG welding aluminium to a high standard
Manufacturing marine gangways and structural assemblies
Working as part of an experienced fabrication team
Maintaining high standards of workmanship and workshop safety
What We're Looking For
You'll ideally bring:
Mid to senior-level aluminium fabrication experience
Strong MIG welding capability
Ability to confidently read and work from engineering drawings
High attention to detail and pride in your workmanship
Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
Reliable, punctual, and committed to producing quality work
Experience within any of the following industries would be highly regarded:
Marine fabrication
Boat building
Aluminium fabrication
Structural fabrication
Custom manufacturing
Previous aluminium boat building experience would be a distinct advantage but is not essential.
Recruitment Process

Important Information
This role is based in Whangaparāoa, Auckland.
