Join a specialist marine team working on some of Auckland's premier waterfront assets.

Manaaki Marine is recruiting on behalf of a well-established marine services company for a Water Blast Technician to join their growing team based at Westhaven Marina.

If you enjoy working outdoors, like staying active, and take pride in seeing the results of a hard day's work, this could be the opportunity you've been looking for.

Working alongside a small, experienced team, you'll help maintain vessels and marine infrastructure using specialised water blasting equipment. No two days are the same, with work carried out both independently and alongside a teammate.

About the Role

Based from Westhaven Marina, you'll be responsible for preparing and cleaning a variety of marine assets while maintaining a strong focus on safety, quality, and environmental responsibility.

This is predominantly a Monday to Friday position, although some flexibility around start and finish times is occasionally required to work around tidal conditions.

An end of July start is available for the successful applicant.

What You'll Be Doing

• Operating commercial water blasting equipment

• Cleaning vessels and marine structures

• Working safely around marinas and waterfront environments

• Maintaining equipment and keeping work areas tidy

• Working independently or as part of a two-person team

• Delivering quality workmanship with attention to detail

What We're Looking For

You'll ideally have:

• A positive attitude and strong work ethic

• Good physical fitness and enjoy working outdoors

• Confidence working both independently and within a small team

• A current New Zealand Class 1 Driver Licence

• Good communication skills and a strong awareness of workplace safety

Previous experience in any of the following would be an advantage:

• Building or construction

• Landscaping

• Property maintenance

• Marine services

• Commercial cleaning

• Working with power or hand tools

Previous water blasting experience is welcomed but not essential. If you've got the right attitude and are willing to learn, we'd like to hear from you.
