Our client is a key player in the building materials industry, delivering high-quality sand and associated products to customers across New Zealand. Currently operating a fleet of 3x vessels ranging in size from 48m – 58m
The Role
As a Marine Engineer, you’ll be instrumental in maintaining and enhancing the performance of the vessels. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and implementing maintenance schedules to keep vessels reliable and operational.
- Performing regular checks, servicing machinery, and undertaking preventative maintenance.
- Collaborating with the Head Marine Engineer to plan engineering projects and optimize operations.
- Ensuring health, safety, and environmental compliance, including conducting risk assessments.
- Training engineering crew to enhance their capability in maintenance systems and safety practices.

What We’re Looking For
- Marine Engineer with a MEC 6 CoC or higher, or a current ringfenced ILM/CLM certificate holder.
- Experience in marine or shore-based repairs and maintenance.
- Knowledge of Maritime Operating Safety Systems and compliance requirements.
- Strong understanding of health, safety, and environmental practices.
- Proven ability to develop maintenance plans, manage schedules, and enhance processes.
